As the weather heats up, it’s a good time to refresh on hot car safety. ☀️🚗
Hot cars can become deadly within minutes for both children and pets. Never leave kids or animals unattended inside a vehicle — even for a short time or with the windows cracked.
According to Kids and Car Safety, 37 children died in hot cars in 2025 in the US, and 5 deaths have already been reported in 2026.
Always:
• Check the back seat before locking your vehicle
• Keep vehicles locked when parked
• Place a purse, phone, or other essential item in the back seat as a reminder
• Call 911 immediately if you see a child or pet alone in a hot vehicle
