Meet Julie Stodghill, Owner of Stodghill Funeral Home!
Julie has been a part of the funeral profession for more than 40 years, dedicating decades to serving families with compassion, care, and respect.
Julie became part of Stodghill Funeral Home after marrying Robert Scott Stodghill, son of Robert and Billie Stodghill, who founded the funeral home in 1972. Over the years, Julie has become a familiar and valued member of the Fort Branch community and throughout Gibson County.
Outside of the funeral home, Julie is a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella #151.
We are proud to have Julie at the heart of Stodghill Funeral Home and grateful for the many years she has spent serving the families of our community.

Carol Janelle Young, 68, of Owensville, IN, formerly of Fort Branch, passed away on October 6, 2026, at Heart-to-Heart Hospice in Evansville, IN. She was born on July 10, 1958, in Evansville to the late Fred and Opal (Grimm) Keeker. Janelle graduated from Gibson Southern High School in 1976. Russell Eugene Williamson

Russell Eugene Williamson, 68, of Fort Branch, Indiana, passed away on October 2, 2026, at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville. He was born in Princeton, Indiana, on December 6, 1957, to the late Paul “Pete” and Mary Lou (Weber) Williamson. Russell was baptized at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Snake Run and raised in the Catholic faith. Why do we call them "pallbearers"?

The word comes from the "pall," a large cloth draped over the casket. In medieval Europe, the pall was often a rich, black velvet covering, and the honored men who held its corners during the procession were literally "bearing the pall."

Today the cloth is less common, but the name and the honor remain. Pallbearers are traditionally close family or dear friends chosen by the family.
