I swoon at magical tales! 💖 There is a hill here that I gaze at, and one day, my friend Jacqueline told me that it is linked to 'The Little Prince':

In 1938, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, author of 'The Little Prince' crashed his plane here in Guatemala. During his recuperation, he saw the Cerro de Oro, “Hill of Gold,” that inspired a drawing and scene in the book.

The hill, sitting at the edge of the beautiful volcanic lake, reminded him of an elephant swallowed by a boa constrictor, and thus the scene in the book.

She told me he was also recovering from a broken heart.

Why do I love this story? Because it reminds me of our fragility and vulnerability, and how beautiful art can arise from stories of love, loss and recovery.
