As therapists who centre nature, relationship, and sustainability in our work, it’s important we also reflect on the tools we use behind the scenes.
AI and digital technologies come with real environmental impacts , such as; energy use, water consumption, resource extraction, and e-waste. While these systems can be helpful, they are not neutral.
Nature is not something separate from our work. Our clients, our communities, and we ourselves are part of nature, even when modern practice encourages us to forget that connection.
With this understanding comes ethical responsibility.
It may not be realistic to avoid AI or digital tools entirely, but we can choose to use them with care and intention. Small, considered actions matter.
We hope we can all hold each other accountable to empower awareness, accountability, and care.
If this resonates, please consider sharing so more practitioners can reflect on how we care for people and the ecosystems that hold us all.
