Well, sort of.

The first baby teeth usually start appearing around 6 months old, but your permanent first molars (often called the "6-year molars") typically arrive around age 6—without replacing any baby teeth!

Because they sneak in behind the baby teeth, many parents don't even realize they're permanent.

These "birthday teeth" are some of the hardest-working teeth you'll ever have, helping with chewing and guiding your bite for years to come.

✨ That's why protecting them with good brushing habits, regular dental visits, and sometimes sealants can make a huge difference.
