❤️ Happy Labor Day! Our blood center is closed in observance of the holiday.

Today, we’re celebrating the hardworking people who keep our communities strong.

As we get back to work this week, we’ll be working to replenish our blood inventory after the holiday weekend. If you’re able, please consider donating in the days ahead.

🩸 Before you make your Labor Day plans, make time to donate blood.

Holiday weekends can be tough on blood inventory. People travel, routines change, and regular donors may be harder to reach—but patients don’t get a holiday from needing blood.

Donating before the holiday helps us stock the shelves now, so we’re ready for local patients throughout the weekend. Your few minutes could make a lifesaving difference. ❤️

Meet Les! He was tied for 10th place in 2025 platelet donations with 13 donations. He saved anywhere from 13-39 lives.

Why he donates:

"Why wouldn't I donate platelets? It costs me absolutely nothing to save lives. It's easy. I keep coming back because all of the people at the blood center are so wonderful. Everyone there makes me feel comfortable and welcome. For me, it's a relaxing afternoon helping other people."

🩸Giving goes beyond the donation chair! ❤️

During our Mother’s Day Blood Drive, every donor who showed up helped do even more than save lives — a food item was donated in their honor to the UCHealth Food Pantry.

A few months later, we’re still celebrating the impact of those donations! Our blood center team recently delivered all those items to help support our UCHealth family and community.

Thank you to every donor who made this ripple of kindness possible. One donation. One food item. So many ways to make a difference.
