This is the wisest parent intervention that I have come by this summer. Our Murray Therapy Parents are amazing! This just turned 7-year-old has struggles that are anxiety producing. He labors with his planning and timing with large motor tasks. His father has been taking him to various parks early on Saturday mornings before the “crowds” get there and before it gets too hot. Watching my little friend navigate this complex task of climbing the wall on his own time and on own (NO adult coaching) is absolutely amazing for his brain building and confidence. As a reference point most kids his age would do this task efficiently and effortlessly. That is not the case for my friend… yet. Motor confidence begets itself! If his nervous system is given the space (quiet/unbusy with other kids) and the time (all that he needs) his level of motor competency will grow and the accuracy and speed will follow. That is Very Cool Brain Integration!
