The Peer Café is a safe, supportive, drop-in space where Peer Specialists use their lived experience (mental health, substance use, and/or trauma) to support adult SummitStone clients. Connect with others, join an activity if you choose, or simply be present. Participation is always voluntary.

SummitStone is hosting a booth at this year's Open Streets event on Sunday, October 18, from 10 AM to 3 PM. You’ll find us along Laurel Street, between Mason and Shields. Stop by to meet our staff, learn about our services, and pick up resources for yourself or someone you care about.

Open Streets turns part of Laurel Street into a car-free space for the whole community. You can walk, bike, or scooter and explore activities along the way, including live music, food trucks, wellness activities, hands-on art, and booths from local businesses and organizations like ours.

SummitStone is hosting a table at the Teen Self-Care Fair on Sunday, October 18, from 11 AM to 4 PM at the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery, 408 Mason Ct in Fort Collins. Stop by to explore mindfulness and coping strategies with our team!

The fair helps teens learn new ways to care for themselves. Teens can try yoga, medieval longsword, art, aerial silks, hip-hop, and more. You’ll also find live music, therapy dogs, community resource booths, free food trucks, and giveaways throughout the day.

Wondering if the 2027 federal Medicaid work requirements affect you?

Starting January 1, 2027, a new federal law referred to as “work requirements” will require some adults with Medicaid to complete and report work, school, work program or volunteer activities to keep their health coverage.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) has its own work requirement rules that are more detailed than Medicaid’s.

Federal changes are coming to Colorado’s Medicaid program, Health First Colorado. Starting January 1, 2027, some adults ages 19 to 64 may need to complete and report work, school, work program or volunteer activities to keep their health coverage. These new rules are called work requirements — and they don’t apply to everyone.

What to do now:

Update your contact information at Colorado PEAK (co.gov/PEAK), the Health First Colorado app, or your county human services office.
Watch for official notices this fall by mail and through Colorado PEAK, and respond to any you receive.
Talk to someone you trust. You don’t have to figure this out alone.
