This week, we mark National HIV/AIDS Long-Term Survivors Awareness Day β€” a day to honor the folx who lived through the darkest years of the epidemic, who fought for care when there was none, and who are still here, still vital, still part of our community.

And next week, we carry that spirit to Cheesman Park.

Join Colorado Health Network on June 12 for the AIDS Quilt Memorial β€” a gathering to remember those we've lost and celebrate the survivors who shaped everything that came after.

πŸ•―οΈ Thursday, June 12 | 4–8 PM
πŸ“ Cheesman Park, Denver

Some names are sewn into fabric. Some are carried in memory. All of them matter.

Today is National Hepatitis Testing Day β€” and it's a good reminder that knowing your status is one of the most powerful things you can do for your health.

Hepatitis C often has no symptoms. Many people living with it don't know it β€” which is exactly why testing matters. When caught early, Hep C is curable. When left untreated, it can cause serious, long-term liver damage.

At Colorado Health Network, Hepatitis C testing is part of the wrap-around harm reduction care we provide through our Access Point program. In FY2025 alone, our team administered 633 free Hepatitis C tests across Colorado β€” reaching people who might otherwise go undiagnosed.

If you haven't been tested recently, today's a great day to change that. CHN offers low-barrier, judgment-free testing for anyone who needs it. You deserve to know your status β€” and we're here to help.

Happy Mental Health Monday, folx πŸ’š
This week, we're sharing two simple practices that can make a real difference β€” especially on the days when stress feels like it's running the show.

Move Your Body
It doesn't have to be a workout. A walk around the block, some gentle stretching, a few minutes of yoga β€” whatever feels right for you. Moving your body activates the part of your brain responsible for clear thinking and decision-making, while quieting the reactive stress response. It also boosts natural anti-anxiety neurochemicals like serotonin and GABA. A little movement goes a long way.

Take That Walk Outside
If you can, take your movement outdoors. Walking in nature β€” noticing the trees, the plants, the feeling of sunlight on your skin β€” has been shown to lower cortisol levels and help regulate the nervous system that kicks into overdrive when we're in fight, flight, or freeze mode. Even a neighborhood sidewalk counts.

Two small things. Real impact. You deserve to feel well this week. πŸ’š

Today is National HIV Vaccine Awareness Day β€” and we're thinking about how far we've come, and how much further we'll go.

For over 40 years, researchers, advocates, and communities most impacted by HIV have been pushing science forward. We're not there yet β€” but the progress is real, the commitment is unwavering, and the goal of ending HIV is within reach.

Colorado Health Network stands with everyone working toward a future where an HIV vaccine is a reality. Until that day, we'll keep connecting Coloradans to the prevention, testing, and care they need.

πŸ’™ Here's to the researchers. The advocates. The people who never stopped believing.

This May, Colorado Health Network is sharing simple, evidence-based grounding techniques every Monday β€” because mental health is health, full stop.

This week, we're focusing on breathing. Controlled breathing is one of the most accessible tools we have for calming our nervous system. When we slow our breath intentionally, we activate the parasympathetic nervous system β€” the body's built-in self-regulation system.

Here are two exercises to try today:

Exercise 1: Belly Breathing
Lie on your belly on the floor and breathe deeply into your stomach. This position and breath pattern activates your vagus nerve, naturally slowing your heart rate and calming your body.

Exercise 2: 4-4-6 Breathing
Inhale through your nose for 4 seconds
Hold for 4 seconds
Exhale through your mouth for 6 seconds
Pro tip: Pucker your lips as if breathing through a straw β€” this naturally slows your exhalation and deepens the calming effect.

You can do either of these exercises at home, at work, or anywhere you need a moment to reset. Share this with someone who might need it today. πŸ’™
