We specialize in trauma, abuse, and substance abuse recovery as well as depression, anxiety, ADHD, and PTSD, through the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. Steph is a Licensed Addictions Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor and certified Herbologist with over 10 years of experience in victim’s advocacy and mental health services. ds psychology, philosophy and self-discovery. They focused intent is on helping people connect emotionally with themselves and others. They have had their own recovery through trauma and watching those they love struggle with addiction. This lead them on a quest to understand the realms victims services. They then began to volunteer at a local domestic violence shelter while pursuing her undergraduate degree in Applied Social Sciences at CSU, where they later worked, specifically with families in recovery from domestic violence. They saw a crossover of criminal behavior and substance abuse within this population and decided to earn a masters in Criminal Justice and Legal Administration. Their goal is to work with people in the system recovering from domestic violence who were lead into criminal and substance abuse behaviors. They then obtained a second Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and became a Licensed Addictions Counselor in Colorado. During their studies, Steph worked in a variety of settings specializing in substance abuse, and dual diagnosis. They have experience working in chemical dependency detox, medically assisted treatment centers, partial hospitalization treatment centers, intensive outpatient services and outpatient recovery services. The experiences in these settings helped them to expand their knowledge of the impact trauma, depression, anxiety and other mental health disorders on their journey toward recovery. At the root of substance abuse disorders, are typically mental health disorders. Their goal is to help clients become inspired to take the next step in their journey. They live in Fort Collins with their therapy dogs Zoe, and Ezra, their bearded dragon Willow, snake Hannibal and spouse. Steph enjoys spending time with family and friends, cosplaying with the Cosplayers of Larimer and Weld County, and networking with others in the local geek, and LGBTQIA+ communities. They travel annually to explore haunted locations and historical sites. They are also the cofounder of The Prism Coalition and continue to advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community.
