Get to know the Wellness Team!

Today's of the Friendship Haven Times features our Friendship Haven Community Wellness Team.

Friendship Haven’s Wellness team continues to grow, bringing renewed focus to supporting residents in living active, balanced, healthy lives. The team works to encourage movement, engagement, and well-being, meeting residents where they are and offering opportunities that support both physical and overall wellness.

Leading this effort is Heather Ochs-DeCoursey, who now serves as Wellness Coordinator. Heather brings valuable experience to the role, having previously served as Coordinator of Social Services. Her background gives her a deep understanding of resident needs and allows her to approach wellness in a holistic way, supporting not only physical activity but also confidence, independence, and quality of life.

Joining Heather is Shelby Scott, who will work alongside her to expand programming and support residents across campus. Together, they are focused on building a wellness program that is accessible, encouraging, and responsive to resident interests.

The team is also joined part-time by Tiffany Conrad, who leads water aerobics classes on Monday and Wednesday evenings. These classes have become a popular option for residents looking for a fun, low-impact way to stay active while enjoying time with others.

With a growing team and a shared focus on whole-person wellness, Friendship Haven continues to invest in programs that help residents stay active, engaged, and supported as they live each day to the fullest.

Friendship Haven announced that Heather Ochs-DeCoursey has joined the team as wellness coordinator. In this role, she brings a lifelong passion for fitness, health, and nutrition to the Friendship Haven campus. She graduated from Iowa State University in Ames with a degree in animal ecology.
