July was packed with fun, laughter, and unforgettable moments for our residents!

We kicked off the month with our outdoor patriotic resident car wash, bringing plenty of smiles and summer fun. Residents also enjoyed patriotic treats as we celebrated the 250th Birthday of the United States with red, white, and blue festivities, delicious hot dogs, refreshing slushies, creative paper origami activities, and exciting slot machine games with our friends from AdvisaCare!

A special thank you goes out to Heart to Heart for helping keep our residents red, white, and hydrated throughout the celebration. Your kindness and support made our summer festivities even more special.

Thank you to everyone who helped make July such a memorable month. We are grateful for the partnerships, volunteers, and staff who continue to create meaningful experiences and joyful memories for our residents every day. ❤️🤍💙

Did you know? Skilled nursing facilities and nursing homes are not quite the same.

Skilled nursing provides physician-directed medical care and rehabilitation after an illness, injury, or surgery. Nursing homes primarily provide ongoing help with daily living.

Skilled nursing stays are often short-term and recovery-focused (though can be ongoing to treat chronic conditions,) while nursing home care is usually long-term.

Step right up to the fun! 🎪🍿

We had an absolute blast celebrating Nursing Week here at Medilodge of Port Huron with our very own indoor Carnival and Movie Night! It was wonderful seeing our residents and staff bring their A-game and brightest smiles to the festivities.

Here is a little peek at our week of celebrations:

🎯 Carnival Games: Testing our skills at the Pop Can Shoot Out, Ring Toss, and the mini Claw Machine!

📸 Photo Booth: Capturing beautiful memories and silly moments with our amazing community.

🎬 Movie Night: Relaxing in the Java Lounge with fresh popcorn, drinks, and great company.

🎁 Concessions & Prizes: Winning plushies, sweet treats, and classic snacks!
