The Montana VA Health Care System is hosting a Grand Opening Ceremony for the new Lewistown Veterans Affairs Clinic, next Friday!

The grand opening is free and open to the public -- all Veterans and their families and caregivers are invited.

The event starts at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 14 at our new location at 102 Market Drive in Lewistown, MT -- across from the Lewistown Municipal Airport off Highway 87.

Don't forget that a ribbon cutting and public tours of the new clinic will be occurring immediately following the ceremony.

On behalf of the Montana VA, we recognize and thank our restorative care team at the Community Living Center in Miles City, especially Ms. Erika Marmon and Ms. Amy Stephenson.

Through skilled assessments, individualized care plans, and compassionate support, restorative care helps our Veterans stay active, strong, and as independent as possible. Erika and Amy lead this work every day, supporting mobility, strength, and daily activities while honoring each Veteran’s history, preferences, and goals.

The Department of Veterans Affairs has awarded $1.9 Million in grants to American Legion Rocky Boy Veterans Post 67 to support local Veterans with transportation needs.

The Highly Rural Transportation Grants (HRTG) program helps Veterans living in highly rural areas with free transportation to VA and VA‑authorized health care facilities.

“Transportation should never be the reason a Veteran misses needed care,” said Kim Adkins, Executive Director for the Montana VA Health Care System. “These grants will help us reach Veterans in remote areas and make sure they can get to their appointments safely, reliably and without added stress.”

The HRTG program provides funding to Veteran Service Organizations and State Veterans Service Agencies that serve counties with fewer than seven people per square mile. This year, VA awarded more than $6.1 million in grants through HRTG. The program reduces transportation barriers for rural Veterans so they can get essential medical care, including primary care, specialty appointments and mental health services.

Since the HRTG program launched in 2014, VA has awarded more than $46 million to organizations in 15 states, U.S. territories and tribal lands. These grants help ensure that Veterans in remote communities can reach health care services despite long distances, limited public transportation and other geographic challenges.

Ways to cancel:
1. Text: Reply “C” to your appointment reminder text. (Text START to 53079 to opt in).
2. Online: Use MyHealth.va.gov or the VA Health & Benefits App.
3. Call: Dial 406-442-6410 and press 2 for scheduling.
By canceling early, you help a fellow Vet get the care they need sooner.

The Great Falls VA Clinic is partially closed on July 15th due to a plumbing issue impacting the ground floor of the clinic.

Veterans who had appointments scheduled today on the VA clinic ground floor, are being contacted to either move to a VA Video Connect (VVC) appointment or move to a different date. You can contact the VA Call Center at 1-877-468-8387 (option 2) for any questions. You can also go to the 3rd floor VA Clinic location to speak to a staff member.

While ground floor VA Clinic will be temporarily closed, third floor VA Clinic appointments (Physical Therapy, MOVE and Audiology) are still occurring.

If you are having a medical emergency please call 911. For the VA Crisis Line, please call 988.

We apologize for the inconvenience and will provide an update when the ground floor of the VA clinic reopens.
