Spring is here!! Mobility is very important to your overall health and well being.

Call for your free 15 minute consult with Dr. Tarra Stetson, founder of Elite Fitness & Physical Therapy of Fort Lauderdale.

Dr. Tarra Stetson PT, DPT has been practicing physical therapy for over 10 years. She has experience in a variety of different settings, including outpatient orthopedics and home health services. Dr. Stetson obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from Emory and Henry college, in Athletic Training where she was a member of the collegiate soccer team for four years. Dr. Stetson received her Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree from Nova Southeastern University.

Dr. Stetson has a great deal of experience working with collegiate level athletes recovering from injury and training them to improve athletic performance. She has many years of experience as a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association where she designed and implemented programs to help people improve strength and athletic performance.
IMC is very pleased to build on the solid foundation that the Dr. Stetson brings to the IMC team and expands the service offerings at IMC. The addition of Dr. Stetson to the IMC medical staff will expand the services IMC offers as we continue to provide the level of personal patient attention that has made IMC so successful.

Feeling extremely grateful and lucky that I was able to receive the first dose of the vaccine for COVID-19. Here's to looking forward to the future and hoping to get back to our life soon. I know it is a scary decision for many, but I chose to do this so I can feel safe around my patients, kids, and not ever have to miss another holiday with my family again. It has been a scary year as a healthcare provider, but I am grateful to be in this profession and have the opportunity to help people.

Make America healthy again by paying more attention to nutrition

Health care and health care policy were centerpieces of the 2020 presidential and congressional campaigns. It’s a shame that neither party focused on the underlying issue: the poor health of the American people, largely attributed to poor nutrition.

By many measures, the population of the United States is the unhealthiest of any high-income country despite spending much more money, as a share of the economy, on health care. The incidence of chronic disease is higher and life expectancy is lower.

Covid-19 has magnified the effects of Americans’ poor health. Those living with chronic disease are more likely to be hospitalized — and to die — with Covid-19 than those in good health. A recent report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention showed that 94% of those who have died from Covid-19 had an average of 2.6 additional conditions. A report in the Journal of the American Medical Association showed that since May 10 the U.S. has had the highest per capita death rate from Covid-19 and other causes among 18 other high-income countries.
