Therapists bare witness to our clients’ story/pain twice for each session — once during the actual session and again when we are charting their clinical notes after the session ends. It’s A LOT. So please stop asking why Therapists charge so much. This isn’t even the half of what our calling costs us. Also, if your Therapist accepts insurance — they aren’t even paying us half our typical fee, in most cases. We do this work because it’s in our heart to do so.
