NEVER put all your “eggs in one basket”

For the past year or more, this blog has depended on bonuses based on the views of my Reels.

Social media frequently pays creators for the views their content brings to their platform, through advertisements or sometimes (like IG, TT, and FB) creators are paid based on how many views they get, enabling many of us to dedicate time to creating FREE online resources and content.

I (and many creators) recently got the notice below from Facebook, telling us the bonuses that many of us survive on are going away, and in my case, now gone.

I’m nervous, but choosing to see this as a challenge, and an opportunity to pivot, and hopefully this will motivate me to get some more books published.

The note reads:

“Beginning on March 9, 2023, we will stop extending new and renewed Reels Play deals on Facebook globally. We will honor the existing Facebook Reels Play deals until they expire.”

Send some love to your favorite creators on Instagram and Facebook this month.

Content creators who depended on these bonuses are likely panicking right now, but many of them have other ways you can support them, and help them to keep creating the content we all love.

I have a Paay-tree-on, write books, provide organizational trainings on NeuroDiversity and LGBTQIA+ inclusion, and even sell shirts and mugs with my art on it.

I just spoke to a new client about this! It's just fu**in' therapy y'all. It doesn't have to mean something big, scary, or crazy. (I mean, it can but it doesn't HAVE to and often doesn't). People come to therapy to work on understanding their past, to figure out their future, and most often, to learn to enjoy their present more.
