Family to Family: Free 12 week course for families, partners and friends of individuals with serious mental illness. Peer to Peer: Free 10 week, peer-led, recovery education course open to any person with a serious mental illness. In Our Own Voice: Public education presentation that offers insight into the hope and recovery possible for people living with mental illness

Basics: Free 6 week course

for parents and other family caregivers of children and/or adolescents who have either been diagnosed with a serious mental illness/serious, emotional disturbance or who are experiencing symptoms but have not yet been diagnosed.

Help us welcome Jasmine to the NAMI Broward County team!!!

We’re so excited to introduce our new Program Manager, Jasmine Love!👋

Jasmine brings more than 20 years of experience in wellness, fitness, and mental health advocacy, along with a passion for helping people strengthen both their mental and physical well-being.

And Jasmine is no stranger to NAMI! Before stepping into her new role, she served as a NAMI Group Facilitator, using both her professional expertise and lived experience to create safe, compassionate spaces for connection, support, and hope.

As Program Manager, Jasmine will help lead our mental health education, support, and community outreach initiatives throughout Broward County and we couldn’t be more excited to have her in this role. 💚

Stronger Than The Storm 🌧️

Hurricane season can bring more than wind and rain. It can also bring stress, anxiety, uncertainty, and emotional overwhelm.

Next week, Dr. Kate Campbell, LMFT and Sara Speed, LMHC from Bayview Therapy will join NBC6 Meteorologist Steve MacLaughlin for a special NAMI Broward virtual conversation on hurricanes, stress, and resilience.

So we listened and Stronger Than the Storm was born. 💚

For this special conversation, we’re bringing together experts in meteorology, anxiety, trauma, and mental health to talk about something South Floridians know all too well: the stress that comes with hurricane season.

Your twenties can look exciting from the outside… new jobs, new relationships, new cities, new independence, new possibilities.

But they can also feel incredibly uncertain.

Like everyone else got a handbook for adulthood that you somehow missed. Like you’re supposed to know what’s next when you’re still figuring out who you are. Like everyone around you is moving forward while you’re just trying to keep your head above water.

If that sounds familiar, you’re far from alone.

At NAMI Broward County, we believe sometimes the first step doesn’t have to be a big one. Sometimes it’s simply walking into a room with people your age and realizing, Oh. It’s not just me.

Our Young Adult Support Group, for ages 18–30, is a space to connect with people who get it, exactly as you are. Learn more about NAMI’s young adult group through the link in our bio.

My takeaway? Your brain has a funny way of convincing you that how you feel right now is how you’ll feel forever…

That the loneliness is permanent. That the anxiety will always be this loud. That you’ll never feel like yourself again. That this hard season is simply what life looks like now.

But right now and forever are two very different things.

Who sent their kiddo off to college recently? 💚 How are you doing with it?

We talk a lot about what a huge transition college is for young adults, but it’s a transition for the whole family.
Maybe your house feels a little quieter. Maybe you’re incredibly proud and incredibly sad. Maybe you’re figuring out who you are in this new chapter right alongside them.

At NAMI Broward County, we know that mental health support isn’t only for moments of crisis. Sometimes, it’s for the seasons when life is simply changing faster than we’re ready for.

And during those seasons, having a community to come home to can make all the difference.

Maybe you need support for a few months. Maybe you find a community you stay connected to for years. Maybe you simply need one conversation with someone who gets it.
