Most standard garden hoses are breeding grounds for contaminants. Depending on the age of your pipes and the quality of your city water, your "fresh" fill could be loaded with chlorine, heavy metals, volatile organic compounds, and sediment. If you fill your plunge directly from the tap, you are essentially starting your journey at a deficit.
