This was our first dining room table in Florida 10 years ago.

Christopher and I moved here from New York with two suitcases and not much else after I finished chemo and graduated DPT school.

He built this table out of 2x4s and plywood he found by the dumpster because we didn’t have one.

I studied for my boards at this table and passed them on my first try. I did paperwork for my first job in Florida here. Our TV and half of our stuff were still sitting on the floor behind me. 😂 We really didn’t have much.

But looking at this picture now, I realize we actually had a lot.

We had each other. We were starting over. We were working our asses off. And we believed we could build something better — literally and figuratively.

We figure it out. We grow. We keep going.

Sometimes you need an old picture to remind you just how far you’ve already come.

From two suitcases and nothing to our names, to everything we’ve built since, we have come a long way from this little plywood table. And somehow, I still feel like we’re just getting started. ❤️🫶🥹
