LifeVac is a simple suction airway-clearance device designed to help remove food or another foreign object from someone experiencing a complete airway obstruction.
It is intended for use when standard choking rescue procedures have failed.
🫁 How it works: Place → Push → Pull
1. Tilt the head back and lift the chin to open the airway.
2. Place the mask over the nose and mouth, keeping it sealed against the face.
3. Push the handle toward the face to expel air through the vents.
4. Pull the handle back quickly to create suction and help draw the obstruction toward the mouth.
On March 4, 2026, the FDA granted LifeVac De Novo authorization and classified it as a Class II suction anti-choking device for second-line treatment.
