This is what recovery from chronic lower back pain can actually look like. πͺ
Swipe through a real case from our office. A 42-year-old desk worker and weekend pickleball player came to us with right-sided lower back pain that wouldn't go away. Three months of it, sitting at a 6 out of 10 and spiking to an 8 after a long day at the desk. Running had stopped completely, and daily anti-inflammatories were barely touching it. Sound familiar if you've been dealing with lower back pain from sitting all day?
Our assessment found reduced lumbar mobility, a positive straight-leg raise, and signs pointing to L5/S1 disc irritation, later confirmed on X-ray. That kind of disc involvement is often what's behind back pain radiating down the leg.
The plan was eight weeks of focused care: chiropractic adjustments, spinal decompression, dry needling, Active Release Technique, and a progressive exercise program for lumbar stability, glute activation, and hip mechanics, with home stretching from day one.
Here's how it progressed: By week 2, pain dropped to 4/10 and sleep improved. By week 4, the leg symptoms were gone and daily walks were pain-free. By week 8, pain was down to 1/10, pickleball was back, and so was running.
This is exactly why we believe in finding the best treatment for lower back pain without surgery, heavy medication, or just hoping it fades on its own.
