One of the most common questions we hear from patients is, “What should I actually expect during recovery?”

Here’s the breakdown:

🤕 Pain: Most patients experience manageable soreness, tightness, and swelling, especially during the first few days. We do prescribe pain medication, but most patients find they don’t actually need it.

🚿 Showering: You can typically shower 48 hours after surgery.

🩹 Drains: Sometimes, we place small drains, which may stay in for up to 1 week, depending on how much you’re draining. With Dr. Rosenberg’s customized technique, patients typically experience minimal drainage.

🦺 Compression vest: You’ll wear a breathable compression vest for 6 weeks to support your chest, minimize swelling, and help with healing.

🏋🏻Working out: No workouts or strenuous activity for 6 weeks while your body heals.

💼 Back to work: Most patients can return to work within 1 week, depending on the type of work they do.

🚗 Driving: You can typically drive again after 1 week, as long as you’re comfortable and no longer taking prescription pain medication.
