Our ICP family is growing! Please join us in congratulating Dr. Marritt and Dr. Rety, who both welcomed babies over the past few months! 👶👶 We’re also wishing Dr. Troast a wonderful retirement and thanking him for the care he has given our families.
With these changes, we are adjusting provider schedules across all three offices to keep sick and well visits available during this busy season. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work through appointment changes.
Some appointments booked last year still need to be rescheduled. If you receive a message from us, please reply with the days, times, and office locations that work best for your family so we can help find a new appointment.
Thank you for being part of our ICPeds family. 💜

Early screening can help families better understand their child’s development and explore the resources that may be available to support them. Please note that this visit is a screening, not a diagnosis.

Our Nurse Practitioners will share observations and recommendations that families can bring back to their pediatrician for referrals or further evaluation by a licensed physician if needed.

📅 Upcoming screening dates: October 14th & 16th
📍 Pediatric Specialist Office, 15901 Bass Road, Suite 102, Fort Myers 33908

With measles cases on the rise in Florida, staying informed is more important than ever. Measles is NOT just a harmless childhood rash. 🚫 It is a highly contagious, serious disease that once devastated thousands of healthy families.
Before the vaccine, measles regularly caused:
• Severe pneumonia
• Brain inflammation (encephalitis)
• Permanent hearing loss
• Death
Today, you have the power to protect your child. 🛡️
How to Take Action:
1️⃣ Watch for symptoms: Keep an eye out for a high fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes, and a rash that starts at the hairline and spreads downward.
2️⃣ Talk to your doctor: Schedule a consultation with your pediatrician to ensure your child is up-to-date on their MMR vaccine.

Please join us in welcoming Mack Cunnius and Dr. Helena Quach, who now have hospital privileges and can help care for your newborn at Health Park Hospital and Cape Coral Hospital! 👶🏥
We recently stopped by to introduce them to the wonderful nursing team and snapped this photo along the way.
Island Coast Pediatrics remains the last local pediatric group rounding at the hospital—a connection we’re proud to continue as we care for your family from the very start.
Two new faces, the same warm welcome and commitment to your little ones. 💜

When it comes to breast milk, how you store it depends on how soon you want to use it. Here are some helpful guidelines for storing your breast milk safely.
🤲Before expressing or pumping: Wash your hands and all storage containers thoroughly. 🏷️Label the date the breast milk was expressed on each container (also include your child’s name if you are giving the milk to a child care provider).
🍼Store breast milk in small batches, ideally 2 to 4 ounces to prevent waste. Any remaining breast milk left in a bottle after your baby is finished with a feeding should be used within 2 hours—or, if quickly refrigerated, used for the next feeding.
🌡️Refrigerate or chill milk right after it is expressed. Freshly expressed milk can remain at room temperature (up to 77°F or 25°C) for up to 4 hours, or up 6 to 8 hours if very cleanly expressed; however, it is best to chill as soon as possible.
🍼Breast milk is best stored in the back of the refrigerator (39°F or 4°C), where there are fewer temperature fluctuations. It is best to use refrigerated breast milk within 4 days.

🥦 September is National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month! 💚
Healthy habits start early. About 1 in 5 children and teens in the U.S. are affected by obesity, but small, everyday choices can make a huge difference in helping our kids grow up strong and thrive!
Here are three simple ways we can support our kids this month:
🍎 Eat Well: Focus on whole, colorful foods like fruits and vegetables, and make water the go-to drink.
🏃 Move Daily: Aim for at least 60 minutes of fun physical activity or active play every day.
📱 Balance Screen Time: Swap extra screen time for engaging hobbies, reading, or playing outside.
Let’s focus on building healthy habits—not the number on the scale!
