💧👂 DID YOU KNOW? IT’S HEARING AWARENESS MONTH! 💙💚🧡

Here’s a fun fact for October! 🎉 Many modern hearing aids are designed to handle everyday moisture, including sweat, rain, and accidental splashes!

🏖️ Whether you’re enjoying a day at the beach, exercising, or spending time outdoors, today’s hearing technology can help you stay connected to the moments that matter most.

But remember: Not all hearing aids are waterproof! Water resistance varies by device, so always check your hearing aids’ specific guidelines before swimming, showering, or exposing them to water. 💦

At Southwest Florida Center for Hearing and Balance, we’re here to help you hear your best and enjoy life to the fullest!

Dr. Mercer opened Southwest Florida Center for Hearing and Balance in March of 2007 out of a desire to provide comprehensive patient centered care. As it is often said, “Necessity is the mother of invention.” As we head toward our 20th anniversary, listen to Dr. Mercer’s heart for patient care and why she started her audiology practice.

👂 Could It Be Time for a Hearing Exam? 💙💚🧡

Sometimes hearing loss happens gradually, and you may not even realize how much you’re missing. There are a few common signs that it may be time to have your hearing checked:

🔹 You frequently ask people to repeat themselves
🔹 Conversations are difficult to follow in restaurants, groups, or noisy places
🔹 You find yourself turning the TV or radio up louder than others prefer
🔹 People seem like they are mumbling or not speaking clearly
🔹 You feel tired, frustrated, or overwhelmed after conversations
🔹 You find yourself avoiding social situations because hearing has become difficult

Don’t ignore the signs! A hearing evaluation is a simple first step toward understanding your hearing and finding solutions that can help you stay connected to the people and activities you love. ❤️

At Southwest Florida Center for Hearing and Balance, we're here to help you hear better, communicate with confidence, and keep enjoying life.
