🩸 DVT and the Importance of Vascular Ultrasound

Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) occurs when a blood clot forms in a deep vein, most commonly in the leg. Warning signs can include:

• Swelling in one leg
• Unexplained pain or tenderness
• Warmth in the affected area
• Red or discolored skin

Because these symptoms can resemble other conditions—and some people with DVT have no symptoms—proper diagnostic testing is essential.

Our on-site Vascular Lab allows our experienced ultrasound technologists to perform venous Doppler examinations right here in our office. This noninvasive test creates images of the veins, helping our physicians identify a blood clot, evaluate blood flow, measure the vein, and determine the most appropriate next steps.
