Fear of falling can make your world feel smaller. You may move less, avoid activities, and lose confidence over time. The first step is noticing the cycle.

Visiting someone you love? Watch for small balance changes.

Family members and caregivers are often the first to notice when a loved one's balance begins to shift. Pay attention if you notice them:

- Holding onto furniture or walls while walking
- Avoiding stairs or steps
- Moving noticeably slower or appearing hesitant
- Mentioning that they feel unsteady or fearful of falling

A supportive conversation today can prevent a fall tomorrow.

Small signs can matter. 🪜

Small balance changes can be easy to miss, but recognizing them early makes all the difference. Take a moment to check in on yourself or a loved one. Have you noticed:

- Holding onto furniture or walls while walking?
- Avoiding stairs or taking them extra slowly?
- Moving with less speed or confidence?
- Occasional dizziness or feeling unsteady?

These aren't just part of getting older-they are early signs worth paying attention to.

Meet our team!

Karina Prado our Physical Therapist Assistant at South Fort Myers. Karina received her Associate in Science degree from Keiser University in August 2022. She was born and raised in SWFL and is also Bilingual (English & Spanish).

She began her career as a Rehab Tech at a Assisted Living Facility for patients with Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Parkinson Disease and Autism with Orthopedic Pathologies. Her experience was amazing but she always wanted to learn more. The main reason why she chose physical therapy as her career was because she was always driven to help those who experience musculoskeletal pain, have a hard time moving, and completing functional active daily livings. She is a firm believer that movement is medicine. In the near future, she would like to be certified in Pelvic Floor Health and dig deeper into Neurology.
