We are excited to share our newest published paper relating to brain-based symptoms!

Brain-based symptoms are physical or mental symptoms caused by changes in brain function. These symptoms, including brain fog, headaches, anxiety, and trouble concentrating, are becoming more common. While factors like stress, inflammation, and prolonged electronic device use may contribute to the severity of these symptoms, what causes them in the first place remains a mystery. Our study looked at whether problems in the cervical spine could be involved in causing these “mystery symptoms.”

This study reviewed the records of 227 patients seen from January to June 2022 who reported symptoms such as brain fog, headaches, trouble concentrating, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, rumination, or obsessive thoughts.

What causes sound sensitivity? Hauser's Law explains the pathophysiology of hearing distortions. Hauser's law #2 can be used to determine if there is a structural cause of unexplained symptoms, such as hearing distortions. In this video, Dr. Hauser explains how sound sensitivity can develop due to a breakdown of structures in the neck.

We are excited to share the newest chapter release - Chapter 23!

This chapter highlights how Prolotherapy is a safer alternative to joint replacement surgery for treating osteoarthritis. Joint replacement and revision surgeries are increasing exponentially, yet they have significant risks, including not resolving the original pain for which they were performed. This scenario is not uncommon in a Prolotherapy clinic, and indicates an underlying joint instability issue that was not addressed by the joint replacement. Most people who sign up for joint replacement surgery have not tried Prolotherapy, which stimulates healing rather than inhibiting it like conventional treatments that typically lead to the need for a joint replacement (NSAIDs, cortisone shots). This chapter discusses who is an ideal Prolotherapy candidate based on joint architecture and range of motion, and when severely altered bone structures require replacement.

Our awesome patient, Joseph, shares how having a structural problem with his neck curve and ligamentous cervical instability changed his life and caused numerous symptoms that local doctors could not help. In our experience, this is not surprising because neck instability and dysstructure can affect all of our senses and systems in the body as it disrupts blood flow and nerve conduction to and from the brain. We are blessed to be a part of Joseph's healing journey. It is incredible how much improvement can be realized when the structural cause is found and treated. Thank you, Joseph, for sharing your story, and we wish you all the best in continued healing!

While most of our videos relate to chronic health conditions that affect internal organs and disabling symptoms, we also help patients who notice how their chronic symptoms have affected how they look physically as well. Because the veins in the head and face drain into the jugular veins that run through the neck, if there is a structural block in the neck, this can cause an asymmetrical fluid buildup in the face like in this patient. We were thrilled to help her get to the root cause and resolve this issue. If you have chronic symptoms and feel there may be an undiagnosed neck component to your case, check out our resources on our longer videos and webinars, and our resources online at CaringMedical.com.

Happy Bike to Work Day!

Cycling to work is not just a great way to get around, but it can also benefit your body in many ways. When it comes to joint health, biking can be a fantastic choice. Cycling is low-impact, meaning you can get a solid workout without putting excessive strain on your joints.

This is especially beneficial for your knees, as it helps to strengthen the muscles that support them, along with the ankles and feet. Research even suggests that biking can lead to improved outcomes for hip osteoarthritis!

Yes, cycling spares your knees from the impact of activities like running, but it also aids in distributing fluid to your joints, benefiting their overall health!

So, next time you consider your commute, remember that cycling could be the key to moving your body with ease and caring for your knees!

Ross Hauser, MD discusses the ways a broken neck structure, called cervical dysstructure, can bring about a "neurocatastrophe." When the blood flow and nerve connectivity to and from the brain are interrupted or blocked, all systems of the body can begin to be affected, and as the neck structure continues to worsen, intermittent symptoms become more frequent and severe. Dr. Hauser dives further into the most common mild symptoms that can eventually lead to life-altering and life-threatening conditions.

In a pinch for breakfast? This simple, savory low-carb breakfast is packed with smoky flavor, melty cheese, and fresh herbs. Easy enough for a weekday morning, but delicious enough to feel special.

What you need:
1 tbsp butter
1 cup cherry tomatoes, quartered
A few dashes smoky chipotle hot sauce
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 tsp “Capital Hill” seasoning blend
(garlic, shallots, dill, salt, and herbs)
1 slice cheese or about ½ cup shredded cheese of choice
1 egg
Fresh cilantro, chopped, for topping
Extra hot sauce for serving
What to do:

Heat the butter in a small skillet over medium heat. Add the quartered cherry tomatoes and cook until soft and juicy, about 4–5 minutes. Season with smoky chipotle hot sauce, salt, pepper, and the Capital Hill seasoning blend. Stir gently. Top the tomatoes with the cheese. Crack the egg directly over the cheese layer. Cover the skillet and cook until the egg reaches your preferred doneness. Finish with extra hot sauce and fresh chopped cilantro. Serve hot right from the pan.

Tips:
- Use pepper jack cheese for extra kick or mozzarella for a milder version.
- Add avocado slices on the side for healthy fats and extra staying power.
- Great with sautéed spinach or turkey sausage.
- If you like a runny yolk, keep the heat lower and watch closely during the final minute.
