We’re proud to announce the launch of Lee Health’s new 13-month Acute Care Physical Therapy Residency Program and welcome Sara Humenay as our inaugural resident! 🎉

The program provides physical therapists with hands-on clinical experience, dedicated mentorship, education, and collaboration to help develop advanced expertise in caring for medically complex patients in the acute care setting.

Led by Program Director, Jenny Willard, and Program Coordinator, Paula Shulthiess, this new residency expands opportunities for physical therapists to advance their practice and builds upon Lee Health’s existing Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency Program.

Building healthier futures through community partnerships! 💙

As a proud partner of Fort Myers Middle Community Partnership School, Lee Health works alongside community organizations to support student health, wellness, and success.

The Fort Myers Middle Community Partnership School Wellness Club officially kicked off its first meeting, bringing students together to explore health and wellness in a fun, interactive environment!

With four students initially signed up and four more expressing interest after the first meeting, the club is already off to an exciting start! 👏

A special thank you to Dr. Geeta Iyer, DO, for engaging with students, answering their questions and making the experience both educational and enjoyable. We're also grateful to Golisano Pediatrics at Franklin Park for providing hands-on supplies and to Tyra for her hard work in helping bring this initiative to life.

A buzz-worthy congratulations to our newest Ambulatory-Outpatient BEE Award winner, Registered Pharmacy Technician, Erica McKinney! 🐝

During National Pharmacy Week, we're proud to recognize Erica for her exceptional dedication to patient care and advocacy!

When a patient experienced an unexpected reaction to a prescription and faced insurance barriers, Erica went above and beyond to help. She worked closely with the insurance company, retail pharmacist, and primary care team to ensure the patient received the medication they needed. She even stayed beyond her shift to see the situation through!
