Little eyes deserve BIG protection. 💚👁️ Children are naturally curious — which also means toys, sports, household products, and flying objects can occasionally turn into eye hazards.

A few simple precautions can make a huge difference:
👓 Protective eyewear during sports
🧴 Chemicals and cleaners stored safely out of reach
✈️ Supervision with toys that shoot or fly
📞 Prompt evaluation if an eye injury occurs

Teaching good eye-safety habits early can help protect healthy vision for a lifetime.

💦 Contacts + water = a combination your eyes would rather skip.

Swimming, showering, or rinsing contact lenses with tap water can expose your lenses to microorganisms that may cause serious eye infections.

That includes:

🏊 Pools
🌊 Oceans and lakes
🛁 Hot tubs
🚿 Showers
🚰 Tap water

Contact lenses should only be cleaned and stored using the solution recommended by your eye care provider.

Your contacts may go in your eyes — but they definitely aren’t waterproof. 😉

It only takes a second. 👁️

A piece of sawdust.
A splash of cleaner.
A flying piece of debris.
One unexpected slip while using a power tool.

Many everyday eye injuries happen during routine activities around the house, garage, or yard.

The good news? Many are preventable.

🥽 Put the safety glasses on before starting the project — not after something flies toward your face.

A small precaution can protect your vision for years to come.

🚨 Some eye symptoms shouldn’t go on the “I’ll see how it feels tomorrow” list.

Sudden vision loss, a curtain or shadow across your vision, new flashes and floaters, severe eye pain, or significant eye trauma can sometimes signal a serious eye problem that requires prompt evaluation.

Your vision can change quickly — and in certain situations, getting care quickly matters.

If something suddenly seems wrong with your eyesight, don’t ignore it.

“My contacts still feel fine, so I can keep wearing them…right?”

Not necessarily. 👀

Contact lenses can accumulate deposits and microorganisms even when they still feel comfortable. Wearing them beyond their recommended replacement schedule can increase your risk of irritation, inflammation, and infection.

Daily lenses? Replace them daily.
Two-week lenses? Follow the two-week schedule.
Monthly lenses? Don’t turn “monthly” into “whenever I remember.” 😅

Your eyes may know your lenses are overdue before you do.

You remembered the helmet.
You remembered the shoes.
You remembered the racket, glove, or paddle.

But did you remember your eyes? 👀

Sports and recreational activities can put your eyes at risk from fast-moving balls, equipment, debris, branches, and accidental collisions.

Protective eyewear isn’t just for professional athletes. Whether you’re playing pickleball, tennis, baseball, basketball, cycling, or working in the yard, the right eye protection can help prevent injuries that may affect your vision permanently.

🥽 Protect your sight so you can keep doing what you love.

👁️🌎 World Sight Day 2026

Vision lets us experience so many of the moments that make life meaningful — watching our children grow, seeing the people we love, exploring new places, reading our favorite stories, or simply enjoying a beautiful Florida sunset.

Today is a reminder not to take healthy vision for granted.

Routine eye care can help identify changes early and protect the sight that helps you experience the world around you.

Love your eyes today — and every day. 💚

🚨 CONTACT LENS COURT IS NOW IN SESSION. 🚨

Are you guilty of any of these?

😴 Sleeping in your contacts
🚿 Showering in them
🏊 Swimming in them
💧 Topping off yesterday’s solution
📅 Wearing lenses longer than recommended
🚰 Letting tap water touch your contacts

Some contact lens habits may seem harmless…until they lead to irritation, infection, or corneal damage.

Consider this your official warning. 👨‍⚖️👁️

Would you know what to do if something suddenly happened to your eye? 👁️🚨

When it comes to eye injuries, your first reaction can make a big difference.

A chemical splash, foreign object, scratched eye, or blunt trauma should never be treated casually. And one of the most important rules? Don’t rub the eye or try to remove an embedded object yourself.

Severe pain, sudden vision changes, bleeding, or chemical exposure warrant prompt medical attention.

When in doubt, call.
