Nothing brings people together quite like a cookout 🍔🌭☀️
We had a wonderful turnout for our Father's Day Cookout, with residents, families, and friends gathering together to enjoy great food, beautiful South Dakota weather, and even better company.

A special thank you to Coach Aaker for volunteering his time to man the grill. We appreciate your willingness to serve our residents and families and help make the day so enjoyable. The best part wasn't the burgers or hot dogs (although they were pretty great 😉), it was seeing so many people spending time together, catching up, and making memories.

Residents gathered for a special performance by Emily and her incredibly talented daughters, who are also the granddaughters/great-granddaughters of one of our residents. From beautiful violin performances and piano accompaniment to plenty of singing along, the afternoon was filled with smiles. A huge thank you to Emily and the girls for sharing their time, talents, and hearts with our Peaceful Pines community. Judging by the packed theater and happy faces, this performance was definitely a hit! Come again, ladies!

Recently, our Director of Resident Experience, Ashley Rutan, spent time with team members across our communities providing dementia care education focused on person-centered care, communication, and creating meaningful connections with residents living with memory loss.

Life is better with a window seat and an ice cream sandwich 🍦🚌 Our residents had a wonderful time enjoying one of the many benefits of our new Peaceful Pines community bus. We spent the afternoon cruising around the Pierre/Fort Pierre area, taking in the beautiful scenery, sharing stories, and enjoying a gorgeous summer day.

Of course, no road trip is complete without snacks, so everyone enjoyed an ice cream sandwich along the way! The smiles, laughter, and conversations made for an afternoon well spent. Sometimes the destination is fun, but it's the people you're with that make the trip memorable. And if you happen to spot the Peaceful Pines bus out and about, be sure to give us a wave! 👋
