🚨 ACOUSTIC TRAUMA: KNOW THE SIGNS

A single blast, weapons fire, explosion or other loud noise can cause an acoustic trauma—a hearing injury that requires prompt medical attention.

Know the warning signs:
👂 Sudden hearing loss
🔊 Ringing in the ears (tinnitus)
👂 Ear pain
🔇 Muffled hearing

If you experience any of these symptoms after hazardous noise exposure, report them immediately. Early evaluation and treatment may help prevent further damage.

Active-duty Soldiers who experience an acoustic trauma or need to schedule a hearing evaluation should contact the BJACH Army Hearing Program at 726-780-1148.

This week, we proudly spotlight Aimee Metayer, Human Resources Specialist at Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital.

For more than 16 years, Aimee has helped support the people behind the mission. Through her work in Human Resources, manpower management, and the DMHRSi program, she helps ensure Team BJACH has the workforce and resources needed to provide exceptional care to Soldiers, Families, retirees, and beneficiaries.

Her guiding philosophy is one that inspires both personal and professional growth:

🔐 A new way to sign in is coming.

The Department of Defense is replacing DS Logon with myAuth, a new, more secure sign-in system that will gradually be used across many DoD and TRICARE online services.

What does this mean for you?

✅ Your health records stay the same.
✅ Your appointments stay the same.
✅ Your prescriptions and TRICARE benefits stay the same.

Only the way you sign in is changing.

The transition will occur in phases, with different websites moving to myAuth at different times. When it’s your turn, you’ll be guided through setting up your new login.

Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital will continue sharing updates and helpful information throughout the transition to help make the process as smooth as possible.
