Today, we recognize Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and honors the resilience, strength, and contributions of Black Americans throughout history.

At Fort Smith Therapy, we believe every person deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. We recognize the importance of community, healing, and creating spaces where people feel seen, valued, and supported.

As we reflect on this day, we honor the ongoing journey toward understanding, connection, and hope.

We have a problem: an abundance of referrals.

Yes, it is a great problem to have.

The fully licensed clinicians currently housed at Fort Smith Therapy have the caseloads they want, and we continue to receive calls from individuals and families seeking services.

We are looking for fully licensed LPCs and LCSWs interested in a 1099 independent contractor opportunity in an established, professional therapy setting.

This opportunity may be a good fit for a clinician who values independence and flexibility and benefits from a steady stream of referrals. Clinicians determine their own schedules, choose the number of clients they want to serve, and decide whether referrals are an appropriate fit for their practice.

Interested clinicians may send a résumé to [email protected].

Play Is a Child’s Language
Children do not always have the words to explain what they feel, what they fear, or what they need.
Play therapy gives children a developmentally appropriate way to express feelings, build coping skills, practice problem-solving, and work through challenges in a safe therapeutic relationship.
To adults, it may look like play.
To children, it is communication.
To a trained therapist, it is meaningful work.

A lot of people wonder what therapy actually looks like.

Therapy is not about being judged, told what to do, or having to explain everything perfectly. It is a space where you can talk honestly, process what you are carrying, and learn tools to manage stress, emotions, relationships, and life transitions.

Therapy can look different for each person, but the goal is the same: support, healing, insight, and growth.

You do not have to wait until everything feels unmanageable before reaching out for support.

Therapy can be a safe place to talk through what feels heavy, confusing, painful, or overwhelming. You do not have to have the “right words” or know exactly where to start.

Sometimes the first step is simply saying, “I think I need help.”

Fort Smith Therapy is here to support you when you’re ready.
