Get to know Hunter Young, one of the compassionate therapists at New Heights Counseling.
Hunter believes that understanding the "why" behind our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors can be a powerful part of the healing process. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based care, helping clients feel supported while building the confidence and skills to move forward.
Hunter works with children, teens, and adults, specializing in anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), eating disorders, grief, and trauma. She tailors therapy to each client's unique needs using a variety of proven therapeutic approaches, empowering clients to better understand themselves while creating meaningful, lasting change.
Before becoming a counselor, Hunter worked closely with adolescents, including youth with developmental delays and behavioral challenges. Those experiences shaped her patient, creative approach and deepened her belief in every person's capacity for growth and resilience. She is also currently working toward her Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) credential to further expand her expertise in supporting individuals struggling with eating disorders and body image concerns.
Outside of the therapy room, Hunter enjoys lifting weights, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Her commitment to balance, authenticity, and personal growth carries into every session.
