Laura Guerrero, Stillwater's Bereavement Coordinator, participated in the City of Fort Wayne's Inaugural Opioid Settlement Funds Community Convening panel discussion on Wednesday on the local efforts to address opioid use in the community. The goal of the convening is to build connection, strengthen practices and save lives. Stillwater's Peggy F. Murphy Community Grief Center received funding from the Opioid Settlement to provide education and grief support to those mourning the overdose death of a loved one.

The Stillwater native prairie is in full bloom!

What began as a restoration project has grown into a vibrant landscape alive with native wildflowers, butterflies, bees, and birds. Every season brings something new, and right now the prairie is putting on one of its most colorful displays.

This fun summer event combines a backyard party atmosphere with friendly competition. Sign up with a team — or as an individual — and run as many one-mile laps as you can during the four-hour relay. Compete for bragging rights or simply run for fun!

On Monday, eight Stillwater Greenspace Volunteers on the Prairie Posse team planted hundreds of native plant plugs the team had seeded and raised since December 2024. Thanks to their efforts, the Stillwater Prairie’s thin spots now have young plants under cloches to prevent our wildlife from helping themselves to the micro-greens salad bar. Some species new to the Prairie’s current list of 70 different flowering plants and 13 grasses/sedges were raised and now added.

The Prairie has now started its bloom, which will last through October. Please stroll the pathways and take in the beauty and serenity.
