I know this is a bit raw, but it’s something I need to talk about.
I recently had someone tell me it took them awhile to schedule because of their body. Which made me very sad.
I know that massage therapy and body work can be very vulnerable and can be uncomfortable, especially if you’re seeing a new therapist.
As a professional, I’m trained to look at your muscles, fascia, posture and potential areas of swelling. I’m focused on what my hands or feet are feeling, if you’re comfortable, if I need adjust pressure etc. My table is a safe space for everyone.
As a massage therapist I don’t care one snap about the following:
Clients weight
Cellulite, Scar Tissue or Stretch marks
Body body hair or pedicured feet
What I do care about:
Kindness and consideration.
Mutual respect.
Open communication
Good hygiene.
(And no strong fragrances, such as perfumes as I’m very sensitive.)
If you have a sunburn or something transmissible then please wait to schedule until you’re better.
That’s it. I got into bodywork to work with bodies.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions ✨
