We’re celebrating a major win for podiatric medicine. Maryland is now the first state to adopt the Interstate Podiatric Medical Licensure Compact (IPMLC), marking an important step forward for the profession and for patient access to care.
APMA was proud to support this effort by submitting letters, mobilizing a strong grassroots campaign, and working closely with state component leaders and the Federation of Podiatric Medical Boards (FBMB) to help move this across the finish line.
As more states adopt the compact, DPMs will have greater flexibility to practice across state lines through expedited licensure. That means more patients can get the foot and ankle care they need, when and where they need it.
