Day three of the WMSO course concluded with a night operations exercise simulating a MASCAL event involving four victims, with two requiring advanced ALS care and evacuation across various terrain. This was an incredible experience, and the knowledge gained will help so many paramedics, EMTs, and patients across Northeast Indiana in the weeks, months, and years ahead.

We are incredibly thankful for this opportunity and excited to bring these lessons back to continue improving care in our communities.

With only a few days before we head to Kentucky for RedSTAR Wilderness EMS’s Wilderness Medical Special Operations Course, we decided to take a deep dive into our first and second line gear setup.

After a lot of planning, scenario testing, and running through multiple configurations, we have settled on a traditional MARCH belt setup built around speed, organization, and accessibility under stress.

Our current pouch configuration includes the STOMP and ARK from Coyote Tactical Solutions.

We are excited to put this setup, along with a few other pieces of gear, through their paces over the next week and evaluate how they perform in a true training environment. Stay tuned for updates and lessons learned.
