KIDS HEALTHCARE regrets that we will be unable to maintain our relationship with Anthem Medicaid starting July 1, 2026. For reasons beyond our control, Anthem Medicaid will be switching our assigned patients to other providers. This switch is not our choice, and we have worked with Anthem to try to maintain our relationship.
✅ Good News - You Can Stay With Us!

We can still be your child’s provider. Just switch your insurance to CareSource, MHS, or United Healthcare Community care plan.

📋 Steps to switch:

CALL THE STATE: Call 1-800-457-4584 (Hoosier Healthwise) 1-866-963-7383 (Hoosier Care Connect) or log into your FSSA portal.

PICK YOUR DOCTOR: Request Dr. Christopher Tallo, Brittany Felten NP, Amy Hancher NP, or Mikala Schmidt NP (open panels).

SAY 'JUST CAUSE': If they say it’s not time to switch, tell them you have "Just Cause" because your child’s doctor was removed from the Anthem network.

DO THIS QUICKLY: It can take 4-6 weeks. If they tell you that Dr. Tallo and Kids Healthcare are still in network with Anthem right now - you might have to call them back after July 1.

CALL OUR OFFICE: When you’ve decided on a plan and have arranged the switch, please call us or send a quick text so we know when to expect that change for your kids.

DON’T WORRY: After July 1 you will have a grace period with our office to make sure the switch goes smoothly.

📚☀️ Keep Learning Fun All Summer Long!

Did you know that children can lose some of the reading and math skills they gained during the school year over summer break? The good news: learning doesn't have to feel like homework!

Try these simple ways to keep your child engaged this summer:

📖 Visit your local library and let them choose books that spark their interest

🌟 Pair reading with family adventures, travel, museums, zoos, or nature outings

📚 Read together at bedtime or during relaxing summer afternoons and evenings

🎧 Explore audiobooks road trips, quiet time, and busy days

🏡 Stop by our office and let your child pick out a book from our Free Little Library to enjoy at home

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Model reading behavior by letting your child see you reading books, magazines, or newspapers for enjoyment

❤️ Let reading be about enjoyment, not reaching a certain number of books

When children read for fun, they're building language, imagination, and lifelong learning skills while creating lasting memories.

💙 A Huge Thank You from Kids.Healthcare! 💙

We want to thank our amazing patients and families for helping us keep our Little Free Pantry stocked over the past year. We started this pantry almost a year ago, and thanks to your generosity, we've been able to provide food and essential items to members of our community who need a little extra support.

As we head into summer, we're seeing our backup supplies get very low. We often refill the pantry several times each week, and we want to make sure we can continue meeting the growing needs of local families. Summer can be especially challenging since many children no longer have access to meals provided through school.

We're currently accepting donations of all non-expired, non-perishable foods and toiletries. Donations can be placed directly in the pantry if there is room or dropped off inside with one of our wonderful receptionists, and we'll store them until they are needed.

Some of our most requested food items include:
🥫 Canned meats
🧀 Mac & cheese
🍝 Pasta and pasta sauce
🍑 Non-perishable fruits and vegetables

We also have a big need for toiletries right now. These items have been going very quickly, and we are currently completely out of backup supplies. Items that would be especially helpful include:
🪥 Toothpaste and toothbrushes
🦷 Dental floss
🧼 Bar soap and body wash
🧴 Lotion
🧴 Shampoo
🧴 Deodorant
🩷 Feminine hygiene products

Every donation, big or small, helps us care for our community and support local families when they need it most.
