☀️ By 4, kids are turning into little storytellers! It’s such a fun stage to watch communication click into place.

On the understanding side, most 4 year olds can follow multi-step directions, understand more complex sentences, answer questions about stories, and start understanding concepts like same/different. On the talking side, we look for longer sentences with correct grammar, clear speech that strangers can understand almost all of the time, asking lots of “why” and “how” questions, and telling a simple story with a beginning, middle, and end.

No need to stress over this list. It’s just a general guide, not a pass/fail test, and every kiddo has their own timeline. That said, if your gut is telling you something feels off, trust it. You don’t have to wait around to find out.

Curious how your little one is doing? Give us a call for a free phone consult! We’ll chat through what you’re noticing and map out the right next step together. 🩵

☀️ SO much growth happens between 2 and 3. It’s honestly one of the biggest leaps in communication development!

On the understanding side, most 3 year olds can follow two-step directions, understand action and descriptive words, know what objects are used for, identify body parts, and much more! On the talking side, we look for phrases used frequently, speech that’s understood most of the time, answering wh- questions, and retelling things that have happened.

No need to stress over this list. It’s just a general guide, not a pass/fail test, and every kiddo has their own timeline. That said, if your gut is telling you something feels off, trust it. You don’t have to wait around to find out.

Curious how your little one is doing? Give us a call for a free phone consult with one of our speech-language pathologists. We’ll chat through what you’re noticing and map out the right next step together. 🩵

☀️ We’re so honored to be named a DFW Mom Approved provider for speech therapy!

Thank you to the families who trust us with your kids, and who took the time to nominate us. It seriously means so much! ❤️

We built Joyful Noise around a simple idea: therapy can be genuinely fun and still get results. Being recognized by the parents we work with every day makes it even more special.

It’s a privilege to do this work and walk alongside every family we serve.
