Recovery Resource Council

Recovery Resource Council Serving Texas veterans, unhoused, youth and families with wellness and recovery services since 1946.

Recovery Resource Council has been a cornerstone of North Texas since 1946, evolving from a small committee focused on alcoholism education to one of the region’s largest nonprofit mental and behavioral healthcare providers. We have expanded our services to include substance use disorder treatment, mental health services, and support for veterans and the chronically homeless. As a 501(c)(3) nonpro

fit organization, our mission is to promote wellness and recovery from disorders relating to alcohol, substance use, trauma, and mental health. The Council continues to be a beacon of hope, dedicated to helping individuals and families by providing comprehensive care both in person at our three campus locations and online via telemental health.

This 1972 boot camp photo marked the beginning of Eric Niedermayer's nearly 32 years of service in the U.S. Air Force and Texas Air National Guard—service that still shapes his work today as CEO of Recovery Resource Council.

For many veterans, coming home isn’t the end of the story but can be the beginning of new challenges related to trauma, mental health, substance use, and family relationships.

Through our Enduring Families program, veterans and their loved ones receive free counseling to help them recover, reconnect, and move forward together.

⚠️ Support from our community keeps these services available at no cost.

From mental health counseling and recovery support to prevention and housing services, we're committed to reducing language barriers and making stability and wellness more accessible for Spanish-speakers across our community.
