Your nervous system doesn't reset the moment you leave the hospital. It's adjusting to one of the biggest changes it will ever go through.

Understanding your nervous system is the first step to working with it instead of against it.

People-pleasing gets framed as kindness. Underneath it, it's usually a survival strategy.

For many people, staying agreeable and avoiding conflict once kept them safe in an environment where conflict had real consequences.

A parent's mood. A partner's temper. A workplace where disagreement wasn't welcome.

Agreement became the fastest way back to safety, so the nervous system learned to reach for it automatically.
The pattern outlives the environment that created it.

It keeps showing up in relationships, at work, and in parenting long after the original threat is gone, because the body doesn't know the danger has passed until it's taught otherwise.

Recognizing it as a response, not a flaw, is what makes it possible to actually change.

Message us if you're ready to understand where this pattern started.

The first three months after birth get a name: the fourth trimester.

Physically, the body is still recovering. Mentally, very little prepares you for what happens.

Hormonal shifts, sleep deprivation, and a changing sense of identity all happen at once, often without anyone naming it out loud.

Swipe through for what the fourth trimester actually involves, beyond the newborn checklist.

Talk therapy processes the story of what happened.

You can describe the memory in perfect detail, calmly, in full sentences, and still feel your chest tighten the second something in real life echoes it.

That's not you failing at therapy. That's the memory still being stored the way it was on day one, frozen instead of filed away.
EMDR works differently. It processes where the memory lives in your nervous system, not just how you narrate it.

The goal isn't to forget what happened. It's for your body to finally register that it's over.

Once that shift happens, the memory stays a memory. It stops firing like a live threat every time something brushes up against it.

If you've done the work, told the story a hundred times, and the trigger still hasn't moved, that's not a sign to try harder in the same direction. It's a sign to try a different one.

Send this to someone who's "tried everything" already.

Anxiety isn't only a thought pattern. It lives in the body first.

Tight chest, clenched jaw, and a stomach that won't settle are common physical signs that get dismissed as stress or written off entirely.

Recognizing anxiety in the body, not just the mind, is often what leads people to finally seek support.

Save this post and comment if these signs sound familiar.

EMDR follows a specific, research-backed structure. It isn't unstructured or improvised.

Each session moves through a clear process: identifying the target memory, preparing your nervous system, processing the memory itself, and integrating a new response to it.

Most clients notice the emotional intensity of a memory decreasing even after a few sessions.

Swipe through to see how the process actually works, step by step.

Apologizing for taking up space, for having a need, for existing in someone's way. It's a pattern, not a personality flaw.

Recognizing the pattern is the first step to interrupting it.

Postpartum depression gets talked about. Postpartum anxiety often doesn't.

Depression tends to show up as sadness, low energy, and disconnection.

Anxiety shows up as racing thoughts, physical tension, and an inability to rest even when things are calm.

Some mothers experience one. Many experience both.

Understanding which one you're dealing with changes what kind of support actually helps.

Give us a call to talk through what you've been experiencing since having your baby and to see how we can help.

Being a new mom comes with worry. That's normal.

Postpartum anxiety is different.

It shows up as racing thoughts, constant checking, and a body that won't settle even when there's no immediate threat.

Many mothers don't recognize it because it doesn't look like sadness. It looks like vigilance.

Swipe through to see five signs that point to something beyond typical new-parent worry, and why naming it early makes treatment more effective.

Comment 'SUPPORT' and we'll send you information on postpartum anxiety therapy.

Sometimes we use the words “stress” and “anxiety” interchangeably — but they can feel very different internally.

Stress is often connected to something happening around us.
Anxiety tends to stay even after the moment has passed.

Neither makes you weak.
Neither means you’re failing.
And both deserve care, attention, and support. 🤍

If you’ve been feeling mentally “on” all the time, constantly overthinking, emotionally exhausted, or unable to relax even during downtime… your mind may be asking for support, not criticism.

Save this post for the days you can’t tell the difference.
