Trip #23

Headed to Fort Worth for Vivian’s monthly iron infusion, routine transplant labs, and an appointment with her nephrologist.
We’re also seeing a new neurologist for Levi since his other doctor moved to Florida. He continues to get headaches and sometimes they turn into migraines that can make him sick.
Thankful we’re able to get appointments and testing done in the same trip. Praying everything goes well and, God willing, we’ll be headed back home tomorrow afternoon.

Please keep Vivian & Levi in your prayers!🙏🏻
Thank you all for your continued support!❤️

My heart is so full. Thank you to everyone who has called, texted, stopped by to visit & to pray over us and brought us thoughtful gifts to prepare for the long days ahead at the hospital.

A special thank you to those who joined us for breakfast., lunch or dinner these past few days just to be with us and support us. By Vivian’s request, we even ate at one of her favorite places before we thought was her surgery Casa Ortiz - Gracie Ortiz Passing the time together, laughing and smiling, truly changed the mood and gave us a much-needed break from everything weighing on our hearts. ❤️

This journey hasn’t been easy, but your love and support remind Vivian and me that we are not walking it alone.

And most importantly—prayers, prayers, prayers. 🙏 Please keep them coming. We continue to trust God’s timing and pray that Vivian’s call is coming soon.

Thank you, everyone. Mary Nell Robles Paul Robles Pam AndAlfred Alvarado Kristen Alvarado Alyssa Flores Maribel Aranda

It must be okay. ❤️🥺
It wasn’t Vivian’s kidney this time.

I know that doesn’t make the disappointment hurt any less, especially after getting the call, waiting all those hours, praying, hoping, and preparing yourselves for everything to change. To come that close and then hear “not this time” is heartbreaking.

But maybe tonight the prayer simply has to be: “Lord, I don’t understand, but I trust You.”

“Be still, and know that I am God.”
— Psalm 46:10

Our Prayer Tonight

Oh dear Lord, please hear our prayers. We are getting so close, and the phone call we have prayed and waited for could come at any moment. If it be Your will, Lord, please let this be our time. Give us strength for what lies ahead and peace as we wait. Quiet our hearts and minds so that we may rest tonight, trusting that You are with us through every moment. We place our fears, our exhaustion, our hope, and everything we cannot control into Your hands. Your will, Your timing, Lord. We trust in You. Amen. 🙏❤️

UPDATE: The donors surgery was canceled tonight, so they will call us tomorrow morning with another update. We will continue to be on standby for now.

Family & friends, please keep us—and especially the donor’s family—in your prayers. 🙏🏼

We received “THE CALL” this afternoon. While our hearts are filled with hope, we know another family is hurting and facing an unimaginable loss. Please pray for them especially.

We’re expecting an update around 6 PM and then the final call around midnight telling us whether it’s time to go.

Vivian is tired. I’m tired. Physically, emotionally, mentally… we are exhausted. But tonight, we are holding onto faith and praying with everything we have that this is THE call—and that midnight brings the words we’ve been waiting for. 🙏🏼❤️❤️❤️

Lord, I hate waking up feeling down when I know I should feel excited and happy, but instead I wake with this deep hole in my stomach and the weight of not knowing what today may bring. I’m also on edge, knowing I could get the call at any moment, and I’m asking You for courage, strength, peace, and comfort as I wait. Help me not to let fear consume the moments I have today. Remind me to count my blessings, to be grateful for what I do have, and to trust You with what I cannot control. I place my worries, my fears, my sadness, and this uncertainty at Your feet, Lord. Carry what I cannot, calm my heart, and give me the strength to face whatever comes, knowing that You are with me through it all. Amen.🙏🏻

💙 A Little Hopeful Update for Vivian 💙

We received a message late last night from Vivian’s transplant nurse that gave us extra hope.
I’ve been asking where Vivian stands on the kidney transplant waiting list, and I learned that there really isn’t a specific “number.” Every time a donor kidney becomes available, a new list, called a match run, is created based on how well that particular kidney matches each person waiting.
But the part that makes me anxious/excited was hearing:

“We have been getting some offers for her, so we are hopeful that we will be able to call you soon.”

This doesn’t mean that a kidney has been accepted for Vivian yet or that we know when the call will come. But it DOES mean that kidneys are becoming available where Vivian is coming up as a potential recipient.
After everything she has been through, those words brought me some much, needed hope.
So we continue to wait, the bags stay packed and the phones stay close. We continue praying that one of these days, the next call will be THE call. 🙏🏻❤️
Thank you all for your support and continued prayers!!

Come on, kidney… we’re ready for you!!
