On May 17th the B family labored quickly and welcomed their sweet baby girl!! Mom and dad advocated well for themselves, and their best friend and I interceded as we also helped mama navigate contractions completely naturally. Sweet baby girl came quickly and beautifully in a stunning VBAC where the presence of the Lord was tangible!! So proud of them!!!

On 5/15 the B family worked so very hard and advocated for themselves so well! Even with rapidly shifting birth plans and even delivery locations to keep mom and baby safe and healthy, mom and dad took everything well in hand. There were tears, and laughter, and jokes, and so much strength from mom, dad, and baby boy. So proud of them!!!!

Help me congratulate the M family!!! Sweet baby boy arrived just 1 hr after we made it to the birth center May 10th. Mama labors super fast so when she let me know things felt off early that morning I immediately took my children to childcare. By the time my kids were dropped off mom was past early labor and ready for me so I hopped the toll road and got to her 20 minutes later. Helped her pack her bag and get to the car so she was ready to go when dad got home shortly after. And then we flew to the birth center! It was a rapid and speedy birth! Truly beautiful in every way!!
Congrats M family!! Yall did so amazing!!! So proud of yall!

Mamas. Take a moment today and do a small something to build ahead for tomorrow. Don’t bite off something huge. Just a small something works. If you are pregnant just make double of whatever your dinner is tonight and then freeze half of it. Wrote reheating instructions on the package and put a small piece of packing tape on top of the instructions so they don’t run off in the freezer. You now have 1 freezer meal you love that your husband can easily reheat postpartum for y’all.
If you are postpartum make a few extra eggs and prep some breakfast burritos for the next couple of mornings. Super simple and easy! If you have multiple older children who occasionally refuse breakfast just recycle those eggs. Take a pound of ground beef that you’ve browned and split between two glass containers, dump some beans on top. Tomorrow snag one and reheat it, top with Greek yogurt and shredded cheese and salsa. You now have an easy taco bowl.
Find the simple things to make your life easier. I literally made 16 breakfast sandwiches yesterday because I had to make at least 6 and might as well make all of the ones that I could in the moment. I now have 6 breakfast sandwiches for my kids the next time I go to a birth and then 4 extra for my husband’s breakfasts. Then today I made 8 burritos/tacos with leftover eggs from breakfast.
It doesn’t have to be hard! But a few minutes extra today makes tomorrow easier if you don’t feel good, have a big event, need a backup meal, or have a fussy child or baby.

The VBAC Expo is slowly coming together behind the scenes! I am meeting with two different DFW providers to talk about working with them on a location for September as well as a location for January! I am so excited to partner with the Lord and local providers to get good resources in your hands as you plan and build out your redemptive VBAC.

As I work on this could you help me by filling out the Google form? I would love to be able to give DFW providers who are excited to lead learning moments an idea of what you as the parents are looking for in an event like this!

Help me congratulate B family!!! On Monday we all rushed to the hospital as mama was progressing so fast it didn’t seem wise to go to her house first. Just a couple of hours later they welcomed their sweet son!!! Mama rocked her unmedicated hospital birth! Congrats B family!!!
