I hear a story like Libby’s multiple times a week!! …. A patient has had 1 total knee replacement (TKR) and does not want to go through surgery again for their other knee! This is a perfect scenario for regenerative orthopedic treatment. Stem cell and PRP can effectively reduce pain and improve function for knee arthritis, even bone-on-bone.

Come see what regenerative orthopedics can do for you!

Happy to help.

Regenerative Orthopedic Case of the Week:

SP is a 79 year old female with long-standing history of right knee arthritis. Pain with walking, standing, getting up from a chair. Steroid injection outside this office provided minimal relief. X-rays revealed significant arthritis with near bone on bone appearance on the inside of the right knee joint. After discussing treatment options, patient decided to proceed with combined regenerative procedure using Adipose stem cells into the knee joint, followed by PRP injected into the areas of bone damage on the inside of her knee. Three months after treatment, her pain symptoms in the right knee have gone from 7/10 down to zero. She has some mild stiffness, but no pain with walking activities.

I have been performing regenerative injections since 2007. Come see what Regenerative Orthopedics can do for you!

Regenerative Orthopedic Case of the Week:
Can you regrow cartilage with a regenerative stem cell procedure? What if I'm Bone-on-Bone??

LX is a 69 year old female with bilateral knee arthritis. She came to see me in 2019 with a 10 year history of knee pain symptoms. Constant pain with daily activities, having to use a cane for the prior 3 months. After discussing treatment options, she opted for regenerative treatment injecting stem cells from her own adipose tissue into both knees and PRP (platelet rich plasma) into areas of bone damage in both knees. Four months after treatment, she noticed substantial pain relief and was back to walking without limp and no longer using a cane. She has done extremely well until a year ago when her pain started to return. She presented today for her first visit since I discharged her from care in 2020. Her pain now is still much better than it was in 2019.

Today's Xrays were performed with the same technique as they were in 2019 (standing AP films). In 2019, she was bone-on-bone in both knee joints; the dark joint space (cartilage thickness, outline in red) in both knees is gone on the inside of both knees. Today, 6.5 years after treatment, she has decent dark space (cartilage thickness, outlined in green) on the inside of both knees!

At this time, the patient is wanting to undergo repeat regenerative treatment...
