Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Kirby attended a competitive six-year integrated plastic surgery residency training program at the University of Kentucky.

Dr. Emily Kirby is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and practices aesthetic, reconstructive, and pediatric plastic surgery in Fort Worth, Texas. She completed additional fellowship training in Pediatric and Craniofacial Surgery in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dr. Kirby obtained her bachelor's degree, cm laude, from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Kirby received several awards for research, scholarship, and peer appreciation at Texas A&M University College of Medicine, where she earned her medical degree (MD). Dr. Kirby performs breast augmentation, liposuction, tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), mommy makeovers, body contouring after weight loss, eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), and many other plastic surgery procedures. Dr. Kirby and her highly trained staff also perform nonsurgical procedures, such as Botox, Kybella, Coolsculpting, Ultherapy, dermal fillers (RHA, Juvederm, Restylane, Sculptra, etc.), and others, in the office.

Where were you in 2011? 👀

We’re throwing it back to the year Kirby Plastic Surgery began!

A lot has changed in 15 years—including all of us. 😂 So in honor of our 15th anniversary, we asked our team to dig through the archives and find a few photos from 2011.

While the hairstyles, outfits, technology, and even some of our team members have changed over the years, one thing hasn’t: how grateful we are for our patients who have been with us along the way.

It’s pretty special to look back at where we were then and see how far we’ve come.

Every surgeon has moments that shape who they become.

For Dr. Kirby, humanitarian surgical missions to Mexico, China, and Ecuador have been among the most meaningful.

Working alongside fellow volunteers, she helped provide reconstructive surgery for children with cleft lip, cleft palate, and other craniofacial conditions—care that can change a child’s life in a matter of hours.

Looking back reminds us why medicine is ultimately about serving others.

This month marks 15 years of Kirby Plastic Surgery, and more than anything, we’re feeling grateful.

Grateful for every patient who has trusted Dr. Kirby and our team with something so personal. For every story shared with us, every milestone celebrated, every referral to a friend, and every person who has allowed us to be a small part of their journey.

Over 15 years, so much has changed. Technology has advanced. Techniques have evolved. We’ve changed offices. Dr. Kirby’s experience, skill, and artistry have continued to grow with every year and every patient. But the heart behind what we do has remained the same: taking the time to listen, caring deeply for our patients, and helping each person feel confident in the choices they make for themselves.

When we look back, we don’t just see 15 years of surgeries or procedures. We see 15 years of people, stories, trust, confidence, and transformation.

Can you get a BBL if you’re naturally thin? 🤔

The short answer is: it depends.

A Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) uses your own fat to enhance the shape and volume of your buttocks. That means you’ll need enough excess fat in areas like the abdomen, flanks, back, or thighs to safely harvest and transfer during surgery.

If you’re naturally very lean, you may not have enough donor fat to achieve your desired results with a BBL alone. During your consultation, Dr. Emily Kirby will evaluate your body shape, discuss your goals, and determine whether you’re a good candidate for fat transfer or if another approach may better help you achieve the look you’re after.

The goal isn’t simply to add volume—it’s to create balanced, natural-looking proportions that complement your body.
