Just a little heads up...
Dr. Shaffer will be out of the office on Friday, July 17th and Saturday, July 18th. We will be open for tech visits or medication/food pick up. Be advised we will be closing early those days. We will close at 4pm on Friday and at 12 noon on Saturday. Sorry for the inconvenience and we will be back to normal hours on Monday.

I've been keeping a little secret! We have someone that is joining our team and we think you will absolutely love her. More information will come later, but her name is Dr. Trotter.

Today we had been debating on reopening tomorrow. My question to the employee that has been bravely going in twice a day to walk the dogs was the condition of the parking lot. Will someone slip and fall as they bring their dog in the building? She just called and said she put it to the test, and she did slip in the parking lot and landed on her behind and started laughing. The dog she was walking, curled up in her lap for cuddle and thought it was a lot of fun too.

Sooooo.... Shaffer Veterinary Hospital will be CLOSED tomorrow (Tuesday, Jan. 26). We will hopefully open our usual time on Thursday.

On another note, she said that the day care next door had all their alarms going off when she got there. The fire department showed up and opened the doors to have water just pouring out of the building. We will keep them in our thoughts and prayers.

Shaffer Veterinary Hospital will be CLOSED Monday January 26th. Our parking lot is an ice rink (see picture from security camera) and it looks like the schools will also be closed. We want everyone to get to us safely. We will keep you posted on Tues. If you have an appointment on Monday, we will call you once we get back into the office to reschedule. Everyone stay safe and warm.

We are all preparing for the weather event around here and our phones are very busy.
We have decided that we will close early on Friday as we see the weather deteriorate and we have decided to go ahead and close for Saturday as well.
We will play it by ear for Monday as it is still going to be very cold and we will probably still have ice. Rule of thumb for Monday is if the schools close, so will we. Please call before you head out. Everyone stay safe

Just a reminder... we are having an OPEN HOUSE at the new Shaffer Veterinary Hospital this Saturday, October 4th from 11am to 2pm. Come see the new facility!

09/04/2025

Guess What?! We are so excited to announce an OPEN HOUSE on October 4th. We would love for you all to come see our new clinic, enjoy some food and fun, and visit with our staff. We are located on the SE corner of 1187 and Hemphill (google still can't find us) just down from Dutch Brothers and Walmart.

08/18/2025

We got moved! It was a long week, but I have a fabulous team that got the clinic packed and then unpacked in just 4 days. We are still rough around the edges, but we will be open for business tomorrow (Monday, Aug. 18). We continue to ask for your patience as we still do not have internet and that means no phones or full network of computers, but we are going to make it work. There may be some glitches, but we are trying our best to get your calls. We will keep you posted and we look forward to showing off the new clinic.
Remember, the new clinic is at 449 West Rendon Crowley Road.. Google maps is not finding us yet, so it is at the South east corner of 1187 and Hemphill. The next light east of Walmart.

08/12/2025

Just a reminder.... We are shutting down the 113 S Crowley Road and migrating to 449 West Rendon Crowley Road (SE corner of 1187 and Hemphill as Google is having troubles finding it). This means our phones, internet, and computer system is down. We will call and email everyone when the systems are up, but that may be a few days. Thanks for your patience and I can't wait for everyone to be able to see the new building!
