Fort hosted its Thanksgiving Potluck Dinner this week. Staff had the chance to gather around and enjoy a meal together. 🦃

Special Shoutout to Libby for organizing everything and bringing us together. 🤝

The unofficial potluck dish winner goes to Kim G. and her super awesome corn dip. Just ask Johnny S., it was so good it had him singing. 🏆🤣

Friends of Lancaster is a local non-profit charity in Fort Worth that goes out once a month to pass out food and clothing donations to the homeless on East Lancaster Street. This is an amazing grass-roots organization that is helping people on the front lines every single month.

Fort Behavioral is honored to be apart of this monthly service work event. This event is open to anyone and everyone who has a heart to serve the community. The more the merrier. You're not required to bring any donations, you're willingness to serve is a great way to help.

Anyone that's able to donate items here's the items below that they need help collecting:

- Food Items: 150 Snacks (your choice).
- Travel Size: Lotion (out), Shaving cream (out), Wipes, Hand Sanitizer (out).
- Adult Size: Used Men or Women Shoes, New Men or Women Underwear, Socks.
- All Kinds: Blankets, Pillows, Coats, Hoodies, Gloves, Scarves, Bags, Suitcases, Tarps, or Tents

"We typically do not do clothing. However, if you have items that you personally want to take out there than you are more than welcome. We just do not have the capacity to store the clothing. See you all on Friday, November 17th, 2023!!!" - Friends of Lancaster, Non-Profit

🌟 Celebrating Emily Bell's Sobriety for National Recovery Month! 🌟

Emily's journey to recovery began when she was 15 years old. Early on she grappled with a constant sense of not fitting in, searching for anything to fill the void within her. Drugs and alcohol were her initial escape, but the consequences of her disease soon followed her. Emily walked down a chaotic path of treatment centers, hospitals, overdoses, jail time, severed relationships, and homelessness. It wasn't until she fully embraced the 12 Steps of AA that she found serenity and a newfound hope in her life. She rekindled her connection with God and discovered peace. 💙🙌

Emily's most notable achievement in recovery has been staying sober and building a life worth living.

Emily's favorite part of working at Fort is the opportunity to carry the message and take our adult and adolescent clients through the step work. She teaches the 12 Steps to any client who has enough honesty, open mindedness, and willingness to change their life. 📘📘

After living years of her life struggling with the ability to love herself in active addiction, Libby finally made the decision to seek help and get treatment. This was her 1st step in recovery.

💖 Since achieving sobriety, Libby's most significant achievement has been the profound journey of self-discovery. She has unearthed her ability to genuinely appreciate herself. 💖

Libby now has the opportunity to share her experience of strength and hope everyday working at FORT. Her favorite part of her job is watching the evolution of a client come into treatment broken and hopeless, and how by the time they discharge they’ve made a complete 360 mentally and emotionally. 🌟🤝

🌄 From Darkness to Light: Chad battled a 10-year fight with op**te addiction. For a decade he lived life in active addiction admitting to rehab after rehab. In 2016 Chad finally won his battle against addiction, he chose a different path. Now Chad embraces a different kind of lifestyle. One free from addiction, filled with spending quality time with his family, outdoor adventures, gaming with his son, but most importantly helping people in their own journey into sobriety. His transformation is a testament to the power of recovery. 🌄

Chad's most remarkable accomplishment post-sobriety is the restoration of trust and relationships with his children and wife, and getting the opportunity to work in the treatment industry.

🧘‍♀️✨Thank you so much Hannah for coming out and doing yoga with our adolescent and adult patients. We've found that Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercise (TRE) Yoga has been a great way for our patients to not only get active but benefit therapeutically from this activity. ✨🧘‍♀️

Fort's Activity Program is ran by Sarge... Ask any kiddo at Fort and they'll probably tell you she's their favorite. 🌟 Sarge does a fantastic job engaging with our children and finding creative ways for them to have fun and work together as a team. 🌟

Do you know of a child needing 45-60 days of residential treatment who's currently struggling with mental health issues and/or substance abuse disorder?

At Evergreen Path children ages 11-17 receive treatment in a modern comfortable setting. Each child has 1 primary therapist, 1 patient advocate, weekly one on one therapy sessions, weekly family therapy sessions, and medication management.

Our program was specifically designed to care for children who needed more than just 14 days of in-patient stabilization. Due to our longer length of stay and more time receiving therapy, children at Evergreen Path have a higher probability of completing their treatment goals.
