🔥 THROWBACK… but this one STILL makes its rounds on the internet! 🔥
This video has gone viral SO many times, and every time it resurfaces, I see the comments. 😂
In the original video, I said I couldn’t remember the exact cause/type of my client’s alopecia at that moment—and whew… some of y’all TORE ME UP in those comments! 😩😂
But here’s what I want you to understand: not remembering a client’s diagnosis while filming a video does NOT mean I don’t understand hair loss. And THIS is exactly why education matters.
My beautiful client has CCCA — Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia, a form of scarring alopecia that disproportionately affects Black women. It commonly begins around the crown/center of the scalp and can gradually spread outward. Once follicles are destroyed and replaced by scar tissue, the hair loss can become permanent—which is why EARLY evaluation by a dermatologist is so important. (American Academy of Dermatology)
And THIS is why I’m so passionate about what I do. 👏🏾
This throwback was an alopecia quick weave, created to give my client coverage, confidence and a beautiful finished style while working with the hair she had.
Hair loss is NOT one-size-fits-all.
Alopecia is NOT one diagnosis.
And every woman experiencing hair loss deserves to be serviced with knowledge, compassion and dignity. 🩷
So yes… y’all can keep making this video go viral. 😂 But THIS TIME, let’s make the EDUCATION go viral with it! 🔥
