Donna Reyes was selected as Halo’s most recent recipient of the Halo of Excellence!
Donna embodies what hospice care is all about: compassion, kindness, and a servant's heart.
She is known by her teammates, patients, and facility partners for always having a smile on her face and a positive attitude that brightens everyone's day.
Donna consistently goes above and beyond for those around her. Whether she's caring for her patients or lending a helping hand to facility staff, she's always willing to step in wherever she's needed. One day, she was even found helping a facility housekeeper wipe down high windows that were out of reach—simply because she saw someone who could use a hand.
What truly sets Donna apart is the genuine relationships she builds. Even after a patient is no longer on her schedule, she continues to check in on them because she wants them to know they are remembered and cared for. In one particularly touching example, Donna learned that a former patient was nearing the end of life. Rather than simply hearing the news and moving on with her day, she called her second job to let them know she would be late so she could spend time with the patient and family, providing comfort and support during their final moments together. That level of compassion cannot be taught—it comes straight from the heart.
When she's not caring for her Halo Hospice patients, Donna enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, relaxing with a couple of cold ones, and, most importantly, making memories with her family. Family means everything to Donna, and whether they're near or far, she makes every effort to stay connected and involved in their lives.
Donna's dedication, selflessness, and unwavering compassion make her an incredible caregiver and an outstanding member of the Halo Hospice team.
