Dr. Craig Harrison is an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon with a special interest in dental implants, bone grafting, facial trauma, orthognathic surgery, and wisdom teeth. His personal mission is to provide exceptional, thoughtful, and personalized care with the same level of dedication that he would provide to his own family. In order to do this, Dr. Harrison started his own practice in Fort Worth, c

onsidering it a privilege to take care of the community in which he now lives. From a young age, he had a special interest in healthcare, having watched his grandfather (a General Dentist) and his father (a Plastic Surgeon) practice in their respective fields. As a child, he lived abroad in Nigeria for two years while his parents were engaged in medical missions, an experience that left a lasting impression on his desire to help others. After completing his undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University in College Station, he attended the University of Texas Health San Antonio School of Dentistry. He excelled and became inspired to pursue a residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery after witnessing the significant impact their services could provide for patients. Dr. Harrison then completed a residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Texas A&M Dental School. As part of his residency training, he earned his MD at Texas Tech School of Medicine in Lubbock. During this time, he met and married his wife Catherine, who is a nurse. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling with Catherine, scuba diving, playing golf, cycling, watching sports and listening to audiobooks. In his spare time he volunteers at Mercy Clinic in South Fort Worth to give back to the community.

Nice gentleman came to see us 3 months after taking a baseball to the face. Obvious displaced ZMC fracture that cosmetically is not great. He saw someone at time of injury who told him it didn’t need surgery……

Given the time lapse he would require osteotomies to reposition the zygoma which he was understandably not excited about going through. Just going to live with it as functionally he has no deficits.

Fun case today. Nice gentleman w h/o assault causing damage to max anterior teeth and right midface requiring plating. Bridge from 7x9 failed recently. 8 must have been grafted and some bone was exfoliating and there was a gingival defect. After extracting 9 went ahead and placed 4.2x12mm implants at 8/9 after removing any not integrated bone graft at 8. Given that gingival defect I decided to do a coronally positioned flap and augmented with to improve tissue contour and thickness. Scannable SmartShape healing abutments were used to help shape tissue during healing phase. Hopeful for a smooth recovery

Hospital consult of the day. Patient was seen elsewhere had previously failed maxillary AoX so they decided to go for remote anchorage with pterygoids and zygomas. Now presented with orocutaneous fistula on the left side. ENT performed I&D and excision of fistula and I was consulted post-op. Pretty solid disaster. Mandibular arch also failing. Heading towards removal of implants and will have to see where we go from there. Also, TMJ’s are wiped out.
